Laser Dentistry

Lasers have advanced nearly every facet of medicine and now offer a more precise method of treating patients in dentistry. It is estimated that only six percent of dentists utilize a laser for soft-tissue applications. At Sandy Village Dental, we have incorporated this state-of-the-art technology for your benefit. Laser dentistry can eliminate the need for stitches or anesthesia, minimize bleeding and tissue damage, decrease the risk of bacterial infections, and promote better tissue regeneration for faster wound healing!

Digital Radiographs

Radiographs, or x-rays, are essential to determine your overall oral health. Previously, x-rays were taken using little pieces of covered film. After being placed in the mouth, they often caused discomfort and required excess time for developing. At Sandy Village Dental, we offer the latest technology in dentistry, digital radiography! Digital x-rays are superior to conventional film in nearly every aspect. They require 70-80% LESS radiation exposure and can be viewed immediately! A “sensor”, which replaces the older film, sends an electronic image to a computer for immediate viewing by patient and doctor. A high resolution image is created which enables the doctor to zoom in on a problem area, or enhance the image in ways that will help detect any issues. Since it is stored as a data file it can also be easily shared with without concern of deterioration. Digital radiography offers greater flexibility all for the same cost to you!

IV Sedation

PREVENTATIVE

Our hygiene philosophy is to help patients maintain their surrounding bone and tissues at a healthy class one condition. Our hygienist has been trained and certified in the use of a new tissue regenerating technology called “Laser Therapy”. This can help patients keep their teeth for life. Regular Prophylaxis ( also known as a dental cleaning) includes a thorough, quick and safe ultrasonic cleaning, as well as a gentle hand scaling. Our patient’s teeth will have a finishing polish using a flavored abrasive to remove stains and results with a smooth, clean finish. We feel that maintaining our patients on a six month Recare visit is important. Our Hygienist as well as our Front Desk is diligent in making sur we help you stay on a regular maintainance program.
